It is a center for trade and culture, with a long history as a Bengali capital. It has been called the City of Mosques and the Rickshaw Capital of the World. It's a city that can sometimes threaten to overwhelm the casual visitor. But once you understand the pace of the city, Dhaka's charm starts to slowly reveal itself.
