Barisal is the land of rice–river–canal, and the fish called the island of Bengal, Venice of Bengal. When hills, tea valley and ancient’s monuments in the other parts of Bangladesh, the backwaters are unique to Barisal. The most beautiful and accessible part of the backwaters are Atghar & Kuriana Upazilla, The famous “Floating Guava Market”. There are 12-15 canals full of natural beauty rare in overall Bangladesh and listed with rich bio-diversity.
This tour starts with a full day city tour, including the new and old part of Dhaka. After the whole night cruising by Rocket Steamer/Ferry, we’ll go for back water-floating market of guava, vegetables and other fruits. We’ll see the traditional bazaar beside the river, the lifestyle of people, school and many exciting things on this trip.
Around 8:00 am let's start with Kawranbazar Vegetable Market. We will visit the outside view of the National Assembly (Parliament Building), designed by famous American architect Louis Kahn. Visit Curzon Hall, Dhakeswari Temple, and the iconic Lalbagh Fort, a key attraction for the tourist. It’s an incomplete construction of the Mughal period in the 17th century started by Subahdar Muhammad Azam Shah. Visit Star Mosque, and Armenian Church, and experience the crowd of the old town. After lunch, visit the famous Ahsan Manzil also known as Pink Palace in Sadarghat. We will go to the Sadarghat launch terminal by Rickshaw Ride. Enjoy the floating people, trading boats, and the environment. Our ship will leave at 8:30 pm toward Barishal. Enjoy an amazing sunset view of Sadarghat.
Very early in the morning, we will go to Banaripara by car. Our awaiting small country boat will start cruising through the tiny canals. It's a wonderful morning. The amazing view of the villages and the activities of people will keep your eyes busy. Visit the traditional floating bazaar. Mostly the vendors come to buy fruits and vegetables from the wholesaler. We’ll have some fresh fruits. Visit a village to meet the people and schoolchildren. After that, We will drive towards Narail or Khulna. Overnight in Khulna or Narail.
Today, we will experience the traditional Otter Fishing in Gobra Village of Narail. An hour or more of fishing is to refreshing and entertaining. After, we will drive towards Jessore Airport. Visit Chanchra Shiva Temple before lunch. In the afternoon, fly Dhaka from Jessore Airport and finish the wonderful trip.
